In keeping with this, the application supports creating a list of files to process by simply dragging and dropping them onto the interface. Luckily, you can also set an option that allows you to add subfolders as well. Similarly, you can add individual files or complete folders using the corresponding buttons. Unfortunately, the application supports just MP3 source files, leaving aside other popular formats.
Changing a file’s size is accomplished by modifying its quality. Therefore, the program shows a dropdown list including various bitrate values. There are also two colored gauges that allow you to compare the sizes of the original and the output files. However, you should be aware that setting the bitrate above that of the source file will not increase the sound quality, and on the contrary, it will increase file size unnecessarily. If you are worried that your file could lose too much of its original quality as a result of the shrinking process, you can preview the output file side by side with the original, which facilitates the comparison. Fortunately, in case you are processing multiple folders, you can set the application to keep the original folder structure. It is a pity that the program does not allow you to set the desired file size and adjust its bitrate accordingly.
In general, MP3Resizer is a small and useful utility. It has the main advantage of being very easy to use. Yet, it does not support many of the functions available from other more sophisticated programs.
